T Rex Arms Sidecar Holster: All-in-One Concealment System
Concealed carry is like solving a puzzle — there’s much thought that goes into it. Everything from the firearm, weapon-mounted light choices, medical, spare mag, where on the waistline you want to carry… the list goes on and on. Well, things may have just gotten easier thanks to the T Rex Arms Sidecar Holster checking a bunch of those boxes for you.
If you’re like me, you understand the importance of carrying a firearm at all times but also understand the need to carry other items such as a spare mag and medical (such as a tourniquet). The T Rex Arms Sidecar Holster allows you to carry your firearm with a sidecar attachment of your choice. But is this T Rex Arms holster your best option?
Let me explain.
Disclaimer: I purchased the T Rex Arms Sidecar Holster with my own money. This product was not supplied to me by T Rex Arms, they did not pay me or compensate me to speak about their product, and the opinions on this product are solely mine and my personal experience with the T Rex Arms holster and attachments.

I don’t always carry a light on my firearm, but when I do, I need a holster that can conceal it easily. Additionally, I find it incredibly important to also carry a tourniquet at all times as you’re more likely to roll up on a car accident or major hemorrhage that needs to have the bleeding stopped immediately. After all, let’s be real, you’re more likely to come across an accident of some sort than you’ll find yourself in a situation where you’ll need to pull out your firearm (but you should still carry both).

What I love about the T Rex Arms Sidecar Holster is that you can interchange the sidecar to match your needs, thanks to the hinge/spine that combines the pistol holster with the sidecar attachments.
For instance, on the side of your holster, you can attach the following accessories (only one can be attached at a time):
- Pistol mag attachment
- Tourniquet attachment
- Rifle mag attachment
- Handcuff attachment
Now, the T Rex Arms Sidecar Holster comes with a Raptor Wing attachment if you didn’t want to purchase any of the attachments, but honestly, it defeats the purpose and build of this concealment system if you don’t utilize any of the attachments.
The T Rex Arms Sidecar Holster is made primarily for appendix carry but has the ability to shift around on the waistline as needed. This also brings into the equation investing in a good gun belt.
What T Rex Arms Holster Did I Purchase?
Personally, I purchased the T REX Arms Sidecar Holster in the Ranger Green color, the pistol mag attachment as well as the tourniquet attachment. I swap them out according to where I’m going for the day, what I’m wearing, and if I’m carrying a tourniquet in my back pocket with the PHLster Flatpack or if I have a spare mag in my front pocket in a NeoMag.

Changing out the attachments is incredibly simple on this T Rex Arms holster. All you do is push out the rod that connects the two holsters, separate them, add the new attachment you want, slide the rod back through the spine, and you’re good to go. The entire process takes less than a minute.
To provide some more clarity, the T Rex Arms holster I purchased is a light-bearing model. It should also be noted that if you purchase the light-bearing model and wish to carry your firearm without the light, it will not work. The holster is molded to fit the light (in my case, the Streamlight TLR-1 HL with the PHLster ARC), and that is where the retention is found. Without the light, your firearm will slide in and out without any retention at all (no bueno).
The T Rex Arms Sidecar Holster is not cheap. While the construction is flawless, and it comes with a wing to help pull the grip closer to the body, you’re going to spend $100 just for the T Rex Arms holster with the included Raptor Wing attachment.
If you want to add the pistol mag attachment or any other attachment, you’re looking at an additional $40 per sidecar attachment. Grab a pistol mag attachment along with a tourniquet attachment, like I purchased, and you’re going to spend an additional $80 just on the sidecar accessories.
My Thoughts and Would I Recommend the T Rex Arms Sidecar Holster?
I think this holster is a fantastic piece of kit. Would I wear the T Rex Arms holster without a sidecar attachment? No. That defeats the purpose. Would I have liked to see T Rex Arms include the pistol mag attachment in the purchase? Yes. Or even allow for one attachment to be chosen and then upcharge for additional sidecar attachments.
Overall concealment of the firearm and sidecar components is good, not great, but I fixed the issue by purchasing a Dark Star Gear Soft Teardrop Muzzle Pad (wedge) that helps push the holster closer to the body for better concealment. I also attached the Dark Star Gear Soft Teardrop Muzzle pad to my PHLster Enigma as well (which is another holster I absolutely love). Additionally, I took off the plastic clips and swapped them out for the Discreet Carry Concepts clips.

I’m a fan of carrying a spare mag and tourniquet (if you haven’t already figured that out by my other content published). If you’re like me and want to be able to carry the things you need in an easy manner and with concealment, you can’t go wrong with the T Rex Arms Sidecar Holster.
