Discreet Carry Concepts: Throw Away All Your Plastic Clips!
For those of you who (legally) conceal a firearm inside-the-waistband, what kind of clips do you use to attach to your belt? More than likely, the clips on your holster are either some sort of plastic or possibly even soft loops, right? Well, Discreet Carry Concepts has changed the clip game and, in my opinion, will have you throwing away all your current clips.
Disclaimer: I purchased the Discreet Carry Concepts clips with my own money. This product was not supplied to me by Discreet Carry Concepts, they did not pay me or compensate me to speak about their product, and the opinions on this product are solely mine and my personal experience with these steel alloy clips.
Discreet Carry Concepts Has Changed Belt Clips Forever
When carrying a firearm, you want something that is secure and strong. Discreet Carry Concepts claims to have “world-class high technology flat springs that yield the longest open and close cycle life in the industry.”
The Discreet Carry Concepts clips that I purchased were the Mod 4 1.5” Universal Clip. I specifically chose that clip because it allows for some height adjustability when installing to get your firearms placed at the perfect height when concealed.

Discreet Carry Concepts has well over a dozen different clips that you can choose from according to your preferences, and everything is made right here in the USA.
These clips are made of their own 10XX steel alloy and use a non-reflective, highly corrosion-resistant DMG/Cu finish. The thickness of the clip comes in at 0.025” and is the thinnest I’ve found.
While they claim their products can be used without the need for a belt (it can be attached to your actual pants), personally, I always prefer a belt so that I can keep my pants snug around the waistline and prevent my pants and holster from moving around throughout the day. Additionally, if your pants aren’t tight around the midsection, drawing your firearm could cause your pants to rise during your draw stroke and cause issues.
Why Are Plastic Clips a Problem?
Concealing a firearm can be challenging. After all, you’re putting something between you and your belt that adds bulk. If you’re able to minimize that bulk, you’ll find it much easier to conceal.
Minimizing thickness can be accomplished in many ways. For starters, you can lose weight. Less mass around your midsection will help the firearm lay flatter against your body. Next, you can reduce the thickness of your holster. Unfortunately, this option can compromise the strength and integrity of the holster. And another option is to minimize the thickness of your clips.
Personally, I prefer the first and last options, and Discreet Carry Concepts takes care of the clip thickness issue. If you follow my health and fitness content, it can help you with the first issue. You can also use a Modwing to help pull the grip of your firearms closer to your body.
Plastic clips add bulk to your belt-line and can cause excessive printing. The thickness is necessary to prevent the clip from breaking, but due to how thick they are, it’s not the most ideal option when trying to carry concealed.

Something else to be aware of is that, unlike the Discreet Carry Concepts clips, plastic clips can fail. You can only bend them so many times before they structurally start breaking down and can’t maintain the same retention around the belt (or worse, they totally break).
Your plastic clips may have been tight when you first bought your holster, but over time, you may notice that there is a slight gap that can now allow the clip to slide up and off the belt when drawing your firearm. Clearly, this is not ideal as you expect to be able to draw your firearm when you need it and don’t expect the holster to come along with it.
The Discreet Carry Concepts clips are incredibly strong, retain their strength over time, and have a hook that latches under your belt to help hold it in place. Once attached to the belt, you won’t even notice its thickness as it will nearly sit flush against your belt of choice.
How to Purchase
Many websites that I’ve looked at are often out of stock with the Discreet Carry Concepts products, which shows their demand. That said, you can order them directly from their website.
If you order from their website, be aware that they are sold individually. So, if you have a holster with two clips, you’ll need to order two Discreet Carry Concepts clips. Don’t be shocked when you see the price of the clips — they aren’t cheap (but you get what you pay for). Depending on the type of clip you need, you’re looking at around $11.99 per clip (or more).
Installation of Discreet Carry Concepts Clips
Once you receive your Discreet Carry Concepts clips, simply unscrew your old clips, line up the new clips where you want them, and screw them in — the process is straightforward.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m pleased with the Discreet Carry Concepts clips I purchased. I plan on purchasing more to replace all my other clips as well. I have zero buyer’s remorse and would highly recommend you swap out your plastic clips for these.

Unfortunately, if you’re trying to find Discreet Carry Concepts on social media, don’t waste your time. They have accounts on Facebook and Instagram, but they never post anything (which is a shame as they could post images of customer products to help promote sales and their products).
