Boost Immunity Through a Proven Multi-Faceted Approach

For some reason, people push off their health until they lose it. If you look around you, it’s common to find many people getting sick from various illnesses and viruses that are highly contagious. Why wait? If you want to boost immunity, you need to play offense and not defense after you’ve already caught something. 

Unfortunately, many assume that just eating a healthy diet is enough to provide them with all of the nutrients they need. Add in a little exercise and you’re good to go, right?

Sadly, that’s not the case. While it certainly helps improve health, most people are still deficient in key nutrients due to not consuming a well-balanced diet. Not to mention, when was the last time you paid attention to your gut health? Never? Well, hopefully, after reading this article that all will change. 

If you’re nodding your head to many of the things mentioned above, understand this… In order to boost immunity, you’re going to need a multi-faceted approach. Protecting your health is YOUR responsibility. And with that being said, let’s dive into how you can use a proven multi-faceted approach to help maximize and boost immunity.

1. Get Active to Boost Immunity

When you think about getting active and exercising, most people assume it’s only for weight loss or weight management purposes. While that can certainly be an outcome, it can also help boost immunity. It’s no secret that those who are overweight or obese fall into a category that puts them at a greater risk of getting sick.

Inflammation in the body can promote various illnesses and can attack healthy cells — eventually leading to the death of healthy cells your body needs to function and perform optimally.

Through moderate exercise, you have the ability to reduce inflammation and support the health and regeneration of immune cells that can boost immunity. You should strive for a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week.

2. Focus on Micronutrients 

As mentioned in the opening paragraphs, it’s nothing new that we all understand the importance of nutrition in our health and lives. What you put in your body will determine your functioning, performance, and ability to boost immunity and protect your overall health.

You can eat high-quality protein, carbs, and fat, yet still be deficient in several crucial nutrients your body (and brain) need. When looking at micronutrients, there are several key vitamins and minerals that can help boost immunity. Being deficient in even one nutrient (such as zinc, folic acid, iron, selenium, or vitamins A, B6, C, and E) can throw the system off and essentially create a hole in your armor, which can allow harmful pathogens to enter the body and cause you to get sick.

Unless you’re consuming many different foods throughout the day and in large volume (especially green, leafy vegetables), it’s going to be nearly impossible to take in every micronutrient needed to fulfill your daily requirements. But that doesn’t mean all hope is lost. If you want to boost immunity and fill any gaps you may have in your nutrition, get yourself a quality multivitamin to take daily.

3. Improve Gut Health 

What if you were told around 70% of your immune system is found in your gut? Would you believe it? Well, you should. Many people fail to realize that the healthy bacteria in your gut is one of the best ways for you to maintain your health and boost immunity. If your gut microbiome is disturbed, it can negatively affect your ability to fight off illnesses and viruses in the body.

To improve gut health, you need to consume food or supplements that can help feed the good bacteria in your gut and allow them to grow and multiply. To accomplish this, focus on consuming things like fermented foods, foods that are high in fiber, prebiotics/probiotics, and try to limit or eliminate as much sugar from your diet as possible.
